Staycation at The Edition Hotel Abu Dhabi

Modern, sophisticated and intricately designed luxury property is the essence of The Edition Hotel in Abu Dhabi. We got the opportunity to stay here for a weekend while celebrating Jon’s birthday in February.

Situated in Al Bateen area, they have fantastic restaurants all around the area and beautiful marina walk. It is a shame that there has been so much construction over the past year in this area, but I hope it clears up soon. Their lobby and their rooms are beautifully decorated with a neutral palette with vibrant plants. I love the warm tones which will surely make you feel super relaxed at this hotel.

I had mentioned to the staff it was my husbands birthday this month and they have prepared a wonderful surprise in our room. Their guest relations team really went beyond my expectations. Inside had a personalized cake and a bottle of sparkling. I love a good celebration.

Apart from the amazing welcome amenities, the room was fitted with a standalone tub, large king size bed, lounge area, and a balcony overlooking the marina and their pool.

Alba Terrace

For dinner, we had a reservation made at one of their well known restaurants, Alba Terrace. They have both inside and outside seating, both were lovely. We opted for the outdoor seating after a recommendation from their hostess. With fairy lights and by a warm fire, it made for a super romantic night. The food was sublime as well. I can’t stop thinking about the paprika monkfish i tried for the first time there. It was super light, fresh, bold, sour, & sweet (all these amazing sensations together!) I also got the seabream upon their servers recommendation which was excellent.

Alba Terrace also offers a 3 hour brunch anytime from 12-8pm. We saw other guests opting for this and it seemed like such good fun with perfect ambience.

The Annex

After dinner, we checked out the Annex for the first time. I heard such great things about this entertainment venue. Not only is it a club, but it is known as a lounge/bar and casual hangout spot. The dress code was super relaxed – I wore a cardigan with a summer dress and flats. There are 3 levels to this venue, ground floor is the club (it is the area where you hear the bass booming). We headed to the rooftop first – amazing views from here and its a great place to be with friends. It was so busy, there were no tables available by 9.30pm so be sure to go early. We went to the lounge where we heard there were comedians there. Yalla laughs was holding their comedian night. We were able to get a table easily. The lounge felt a bit more upscale than their rooftop, but it was also more quiet. We will definitely be back again at the Annex, having the different levels with such contrasting audiences make it a place that is suitable for any type of group.

The Market

Finally an amazing staycation at The Edition would not be complete without their breakfast at The Market. It is one of the best places for breakfast in the area. Non-hotel guests also come to this venue regularly and it gets so busy on the weekends. As part of our room package it included the breakfast which is served a la carte as opposed to other hotel breakfasts which are usually buffet style. I prefer the a la carte option since the meals are cooked to order and the presentation looks so good! I saw almost every other table ordered the avocado toasts so I followed through as well. My hubs ordered the breakfast burrito and we had a few cold cuts and cheeses to share.

What a wonderful time spent at The Edition. It is an ideal hotel for those looking great dining and entertainment options. The quality and service at this property was really perfect and we are very happy we have celebrated Jon’s birthday here.
