Brunch Experience at Four Seasons | Cafe Milano

Cafe Milano, Four Seasons Hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Welcome

If you love brunches, you must reserve a table at the next Cafe Milano’s Brunch Del Sabato. It’s a delectable Italian affair with beautiful views that will wow all your guests. My husband and I were invited to sample the menu last weekend and boy was I impressed! First off, with Four Seasons, of course everything is fancy! It’s decently priced too! Read on further about the details, pricing and what to expect.

We got the best alfresco seats in the house. Right by the open water, you can feel the slight breeze and sunshine peeking in on a cloudy day. At times, we witnessed sun showers too (with the weird weather, I’m glad it was not a sandstorm).

The manager, Andreas, was so welcoming and had insisted to try out their peach Bellinis! A treat indeed, it was made with real handpicked peaches. A tip he gave me was to look at the color of the peach drinks, its its too bold and peachy (its most likely made with peace syrup and not real peaches).

We were introduced to our 2 page menus outlining the tasting for today. It consisted of 13 antipasti options, 2 pastas, 3 mains and a dozen desserts. All of the items were served at table side and family-style except the mains where you’d have to pick just one. I am glad that is the ONLY item I needed to pick that afternoon, so many tasty items!

Their menu does change weekly so the options outlined here may not be exactly the ones you will be served during your brunch. Everything is served table-side so no need to get up from your seat!

Antipasti

I really enjoyed the presentation of the antipasti. The servers rolled up with table side with a cart and introduced each item as they presented it onto the table. On a 3-tier afternoon tea set platter they displayed their croissants including the savory sandwiches and house-breads. This platter was quite heavy for 2 people, I recommend to make sure you make enough room or pace yourself for all the other delicious items coming your way!

The grilled octopus was one of my favorites. It was so tender and cooked to perfection. I am a seafood lover so they had so many choices to choose from. I am usually not a big fan for scallops but they portioned each item perfectly (1 for each guest). It’s just right to me with the variety of food they serve!

I found it to be quite interesting how they served the marinated tuna with soya sauce and ginger. It came in a can (resembling a tuna can). Pop the top and you see a beautifully presented slice of tuna. It was quite yummy but unexpected presentation.

Here is a full listing of all the antipasti

Dill Marinated Salmon with Orange and Fennel
Quinoa Salad with Vegetables and Cashew Nuts
Burrata Cheese with Eggplant Sauce
Marinated Tuna with Soya Sauce and Ginger
House-made Croissants Selections
Roasted Scallops with Bell Pepper Sauce
Roasted Octopus with Green Beans and Mint Salad
Deep Fried Saffron Aracini with TOmato Sauce
Roasted egg with Asaparagus, Parmigiana Sauce and Truffle
Potato and Onion Omelet with Parmigiano Cheese
Focaccia with Fresh Rosemary and olive oil

Pastas

When the pastas came it was quite a show! A huge cheese wheel came rolling up to our table-side. The chef started making the pasta inside the huge cheese wheel and topping it off with mushrooms! It was a great show and tasted amazing too. We had the house made Taguatelle Pasta with Mushrooms and Parmigiano Cheese. The other pasta we were served was crepes with Spinach and Ricotta cheese, oh it was so filling!

Main Course

There is more! My main course had not arrived yet but I was so full!  I decided to go with the sea bream fillet. I was surprised that it literally came wrapped up in parchment paper. It does give some entertainment factor to it as I had to unwrap it myself to reveal the beautiful fillet. However, the presentation of it needed more work for sure. Here are the other two options you can get for mains:

Sea Bream Fillet with Vegetables and Thyme in Foil
Roasted and stuffed Chicken Breast served with caramelized onions and spinach
Roasted Beef Tenderloin in a black pepper sauce with mash potatoes and brocolini

Desserts

I literally had one of EACH dessert they had on the dessert cart, possibly close to 8 house-made desserts on there! I remember insta-storing this as they came with the dessert cart and I played this back a few times at home reliving the memory! They had profiteroles, lemon meringue, tiramisu, and much more! If I could only pick one, Id choose their lemon meringue!

Recommendation: I would without a doubt book this brunch if you (1) love food (2) love brunch (3) love being pampered (4) love good views (5) love a good deal.  It’s AED 190 per adult on soft package and AED 250 on house package; AED 60 for children.
